Applications of Beech Wood

Beech wood has been used in many products, such as agricultural plows, wooden wheel parts and spokes, and wagon shafts. Its application has been universal, excelling in areas requiring high resistance to damage and durability.

Currently, beech lumber is used in furniture making (frames for upholstered furniture, parts for bent furniture), as well as complete pieces made of solid beech wood. Processing beech lumber requires careful dust extraction, as beech dust is carcinogenic.

What is Beech Lumber Made Of?

Beech lumber is sourced from the European beech (Fagus sylvatica), a tree that typically grows to a height of 20-30 meters. Young specimens have smooth, gray bark that is pleasant to the touch. Young beech shoots have numerous hairs, and their leaves are glossy and dark green, with a pointed shape. In autumn, beeches change color to yellow, later turning brown, and some leaves remain on the tree during winter. Mature beeches produce what is known as beechnuts. A mature tree has a growth rate of about 50 cm per year.
